Dearest Reader,
I apologize for the lack of updates.
My husband recovered from surgery, but something was waiting on the horizon.
My father’s sister (my beloved aunt) passed away on July 1st. It was unexpected and a complete shock. I didn’t know how much her death would impact me, but she is entwined with memories of my father, and he passed on December 19th—the tenth anniversary is this year. Grief really is odd and brutal. Initially, you’re in a daze and go about things. Then, the reality sinks in and you’re faced with your own mortality. The loss of those you love (in my case, numerous family members have passed away these last three years), and trying to reconcile life and death, is staggering.
That said, I’m no longer doing side jobs and have resumed writing.
Immortal Mine is complete and has been sent for revisions. I hope to get everything done for Christmas or, if not, a spring release. Meanwhile, I’ve returned to The Crimson Trilogy. Crimson Moon has been revised and edited. Crimson Sunrise is next. Since the manuscript for Crimson Sunset was essentially destroyed when I got a new hard drive, I started over. I’m working on the manuscript and want to complete the book by the end of the year. Once I have, revisions and edits will begin.
Regarding other projects: Forever Mine (Leigh and Nathan’s story) is being written (I don’t know if it will be a novella or become a novel). Bitten (a spin-off of The Wolf’s Den) is complete but needs revisions and edits. Twisted in Knots is done, but I'd like to tinker with it. Destined (The Wolf's Den) will be a lengthy work in progress as the timeline and world differ.
My primary focus is on releasing Immortal Mine and Crimson Sunset.
I will update again soon, but I am taking time with my girl in the world, Daisy Mae. She came into my life thirteen years ago, and I don’t know what I’ll do when she’s gone. As October is my favorite month, I will allot much of my time to her. I want to create memories and take pictures while I can. I honestly didn’t think she’d be here this year. Even the veterinarians who see her (she sees more than one) say it’s a surprise she’s doing so well with all her issues.
That’s all for now. I hope all of you enjoy a lovely and fun October.
Mucho love and all the hugs,
Jaime Aline
